Integrated Monitoring and Information System for Energy Efficiency (IMIS-EE)

The project aims to develop a new integrated monitoring and information system, built on multiple-ICT, customizable, modular, human-centred platform and open service oriented architecture, able to promote energy efficiency in residences/buildings and, consequently, in neighbourhoods and communities. The project intends to experimentally demonstrate that a significant reduction in energy consumption and greenhouse gases emissions in communities, as well as an increase of renewable energy into the electric grid, can be achieved through the proposed system and methodology, which combines advanced ICT and cognitive approaches.

PARTNER PROFILE SOUGHT Required skills and Expertise: - Expertise in ICT systems: sensing networks, open SOA and communication technologies.
- Expertise in energy efficiency and emission reduction: technologies and assessment methodologies.
- Expertise in smart systems: smart metering and appliances.
- Expertise in social networks: cooperative projects and cognitive approach to motivation and awareness.
Description of work to be carried out by the partner(s) sought: - Development of technological platform able to integrate and support different sensing systems.
- Development of communication procedures through digital TV, mobile phone and internet.
- Development of special contents and applications, with informative and interactive functions, available to users through multiple options.
Type of partner(s) sought: - R&D Centres and universities - researchers and developers of the technological platform for the integration of multiple/different sensing systems and communication technologies.
- Industrial Partners - suppliers of traditional and/or smart metering systems and smart appliances, which will be used for study and characterization purposes, as well as application in a demonstrative case. utilization during the project and innovation in the context of the project. Research on innnovation and new applications for intelligent sensors will also be promoted in cooperative activities among partners
- Utilities - providers of information about local energy consuptiom/generation and life-cycle analysis and, at the same time, partners interested in smart grid issues.
- SMEs - providers of complementary solutions, as dedicated software and the set of special contents and application proposed in the project.
